• We operate a 100% virtual front desk after the original hotel’s office was destroyed in 2013. As such, we also have a 100% touchless check-in available on each room.

  • Every reservation receives an email with check-in instructions sent to the email address on file at 9AM on your day of arrival. If you are having issues with check in, please call our front desk at 605-549-5270

  • For reservations made with the fully refundable option, you can opt to cancel anytime until three days before your arrival date. If you cancel within the three day window, you will be charged the first night stay deposit.

  • If you booked a non-refundable rate, be very sure you’re going to make your trip because there are no refunds on this rate! This is how we offer the discount from our standard refundable rate. Be very sure nothing is going to come up. It makes for a much more exciting trip!

  • We offer various length of stay discounts throughout the year. Unless noted otherwise in the discount, all length of stay discounts are considered fully refundable. See above for the cancellation policy details.

  • Due to our small size, all of our rooms are non-smoking. Since the room entrances are all close to each other, as a courtesy to our guests, if you want to smoke, please use the designated smoking area by the garage door at the end of the building.

    Please note our fire suppression systems are very sensitive and any smoking in public walkways or in rooms risks setting off the sprinkers. In the event this occurs, we reserve the right to charge for repairs related to fire suppression damage.

  • Personally, we love dogs. However, due to our small size we cannot offer pet accommodations at this time due to the potential for unfamiliar pets interacting on our property. If you would like to stay in town with us and have a dog travelling with you, we have a number of great boarding options in Spearfish.

  • The Queen City Inn is a hotel and is not licensed for long-term living or extended stays. The only exception to this is for corporate accounts. If you are travelling for business and would like to inquire about corporate rates or request blocks for your team, please see our Corporate Rates section.

  • August is a special time in the Black Hills, it is a time when people from all over the world come to the Black Hills in order to eat, drink, be merry and celebrate their love of motorcycling. Booking for this time period usually begins in January. Unfortunately, in past years, we have noticed that people will book a refundable rate to “secure their spot” and then cancel at the last minute. We would like everyone to enjoy this time and be able to stay with us without having a reservation taken by someone who isn’t committed to visiting the Sturgis rally. So, unfortunately to make sure people are able to experience this event, a non-refundable policy was implemented around the dates of Sturgis. Please make sure you’re ready to come before booking!

  • Unfortunately, Booking.com’s systems do not work well with ours and do not recognize that we operate a virtual office. As such, we have to perform an additional registration process to have a credit card on file before we can check you in.

    We made every attempt to make this as painless as possible, but Booking.com has stated that they cannot fix this issue. If you’re reading this FAQ, we recommend booking directly through our website as we use an industry standard payment processor that uses similar encryption to other travel sites. The pay by link you received is also powered by our payment processor. Otherwise, we also have a full range of competing travel sites available to choose from on our business profile.
